We are writing this at the end of our 12th Hackathon in Portugal with the Trustroots team, with an invite to a summery potluck picnic in Berlin for the Trustroots community! Let’s hang out, connect over some shared food, BBQ, hear about ideas people are working on, amongst like minded people. We are also very excited to finally celebrate the next step of our community together: the launch of our new Nostroots app.

If you’re traveling to Berlin for the picnic, consider looking for a Trustroots host sooner than later, this will likely be a busy weekend. For those curious what we’ve been up to during our last hackathon, here are a few highlights:

Looking ahead
We spent time revisiting our long-term strategy and roadmap, taking into account the new possibilities that AI tools are opening up. We’re excited about how these tools can help us build the next version of our community while strengthening Trustroots’ values.

Improving Trustroots.org
After several years in maintenance mode, we’re starting to make changes to Trustroots.org again, and the first improvements have already been deployed.

Behind the scenes, we also fixed an email delivery issue that prevented some members from receiving emails from Trustroots, and moved our infrastructure to a new server that should improve reliability. We also welcomed a new member to the sysadmin team!

Building Nostroots
We continued improving Nostroots, making it more focused on real-time communication and making it easier to understand the reach of your posts. The login experience between Trustroots and Nostroots is now much simpler, along with other user experience upgrades.

Last but not least, we submitted the Nostroots app to both the iOS and Android app stores… it’s out in the wild now. Check it out, and come celebrate with us on August 2nd 🙂!
